“USRN Na Ako! Finished strong with 75 items! ” – Nurse Ansherina

I know this is just the beginning of something great. Finished strong with 75 items!

USRN NA AKO! 👩‍⚕️

After months of struggling to balance both study and work, I’m finally one step closer to achieving my American Dream. Praise the Lord for never giving up on me despite the negativities I made myself think. I’m forever grateful for all the blessings that you have showered in my life. 💚

It was hard trying to find the time and energy to study after a tiring day at work. Sometimes I choose to sleep instead or do something else which makes me guilty. My agency always emailed me if there were any free review classes but unfortunately, it didn’t fit my schedule, so I had no choice but to study all by myself. My goal was to answer at least 75 questions per day and study the rationales after. It was really helpful since it enhanced my test-taking skills. I didn’t read a lot, since I got easily tired and it didn’t seem effective to me. Rationales were my main thing during my review.

So I guess from what I learned, the best tip I could give is to try to know yourself first. Find out what strategies work best with you and your schedule. Rest if you need to. Don’t be too hard on yourself. And of course, believe in God and yourself.

Lastly, I would like to thank Health Carousel for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime. Special thanks to Maam Patricia for always checking up on me and believing in me. Thank you also to Innovphil for patiently answering my queries and processing my application. And for those who supported me all the way, I am so grateful.

I know this is just the beginning of something great.

Finished strong with 75 items,

A dream made possible by Health Carousel…

Last January 9, 2021, I have successfully passed my NCLEX-RN exam by the Grace of God and with the great help of the Health Carousel team.

I would like to reach out with my sincerest gratitude to Health Carousel especially to Ms. Jeimyleen Cas for providing guidance and full support throughout the whole process in achieving my American Dream. From processing documents to review for the test down to taking my exam, everything was smooth. The overall system was efficient and hassle-free. Even at the crucial time of this pandemic, they never stopped working but instead continued to monitor and did their job even better. I will always be grateful to the Lord for making Health Carousel an instrument for me to strive harder to fulfill my dreams and become an inspiration to others.

“Keep your dreams in mind so you never forget why you started.” – Nurse Frances Isabela

I thought about giving up, but I am so thankful to my Advisor, Manyles, for constantly keeping in contact with me and encouraging me to keep going.

I joined Health Carousel sometime in late 2018, and it has been a long journey to get to where I am today.

I was first introduced to the program by a friend, and I thought to myself, “Why not?” I was a fresh graduate and I wanted to work on furthering my career as soon as possible. I didn’t realize at the time that I would have a lot of ups and downs.

It wasn’t anything with the program itself, but rather my own personal difficulty with balancing my studies and work. I tried to focus on my review, but so many things were happening at my workplace and personal life and I couldn’t find the time to pick up on my modules and read. I thought about giving up, but I am so thankful to my Advisor, Manyles, for constantly keeping in contact with me and encouraging me to keep going. When I thought I could finally focus, the pandemic came up and I became even busier. But my advisor still did not give up on me. She would listen to me and she was fully understanding of whatever situation I was in at the time. She gave me several calls and advice, and finally, by March of 2021, I was scheduled to take my exam on the 23rd of May.

With the impending date looming over me, I reviewed and reviewed and tried to answer as many questions as I could. It was nerve-wracking, but I finally made it. Two days after my exam, I got a call from Manyles telling me I’ve passed my exam. Honestly, I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I couldn’t believe that I finally did it.

I am forever grateful to the Health Carousel’s ASPIRE program for never giving up on me, even when I was so close to giving up on myself.

A Message To My Fellow Nurses

To all aspiring NCLEX takers and USRNs, my advice to you is to try to find a balance between your work (if you are working) and your studies, but give yourself a break every once in a while, to relax as well so you don’t get burnt out. Always keep your dreams in mind so you never forget why you started in the first place, and let it drive you to get to where you want to be in life.
