Health Carousel Philippines Inc (HCPI) in partnership with DAISY Foundation and Health Carousel, LLC conducted the virtual ceremony of the very FIRST DAISY Award given to a nursing student in the Philippines on October 4, 2021.
There were six (6) students who participated in the search for the FIRST DAISY student awardee. All of the entries have inspiring stories about their journey as students, especially during the pandemic. The story of Sherwin Pazzibugan, a senior nursing student of St Paul University Philippines, Tuguegarao was selected based on the criteria set by the DAISY committee.
Sherwin, in a very inspired mood, said, The DAISY award means a lot to me but also it means more responsibilities. Thank you Health Carousel and DAISY Foundation for this recognition. This inspires me to be more and to do more. No pandemic will stop us to create positive change and create a positive outlook in our community.
The President of PassportUSA, a division of Health Carousel, LLC, Mr. Eric Schumann informed Sherwin that the company will be providing a scholarship for his senior year not only covering his tuition fees but also the cost of books and other miscellaneous items. We have been lighting the way since 2004, we are not only focused on recruitment but also to global sustainability of nursing worldwide and that is the reason why we invested in DAISY Award to recognize folks like you that is in the nursing community who represent genuine compassionate care to their patients. The partnership of Health Carousel Philippines and DAISY foundation started in the year 2020 to recognize extraordinary nurses in the country. Health Carousel Philippines thru Health Carousel, LLC gives DAISY awards to nurses quarterly. There are already six (6) recipients for DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in the Philippines thru Health Carousel. Our partnership with DAISY Foundation is anchored in our light the way initiatives and one of the goals is to promote excellence in nursing education and practice, said Connie Dela Cruz, Co-Founder and Chair of the Board, Health Carousel Philippines.
