The Link Between IELTS and VisaScreen

Some Health Carousel candidates are quite puzzled on why IELTS need to be passed on the early stage of their application.

This is because this is one of the requirements for VisaScreen application that needs more time to complete. It involves several months of review or preparation, depending on the candidate's English proficiency skills. Then, sitting for the IELTS exam.

Once IELTS is passed, the VisaScreen application can be started, as other documents or requirements may take weeks for candidates to process. The remaining time depends on the third party organization's processing time. To understand fully, below is an except from the CGFNS website regarding VisaScreen service.

VisaScreen validation is within five years from the date it is released. The date issued and expiration can be seen on the certificate itself. IELTS has a lifespan of 2 years, from the date passed. Nevertheless it expires, candidates are not required to retake the IELTS exam as long as the VisaScreen is still valid.
