The DAISY Award is given to extraordinary nurses. DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The foundation was established by members of the family of Patrick Barnes who died of complications of the auto-immune disease ITP. The nurses’ sensitivity made a great difference in the Barne’s experience, and they wanted to say Thank you to nurses for the extraordinary care they provided to patients and families everyday. So Patrick’s family created the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Currently, there are over 5,400 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing in all 50 states and 33 other countries and territories, committed to honoring nurses with The DAISY Award.
Health Carousel is the 1st International Advocate of DAISY Foundation. It partners with the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses because the company believes that all nurses in the Philippines are compassionate and kind to their patients and to other people but there is always one that is an extraordinary nurse in every hospital or other facilities and in other places who deserves to be recognized.
