“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” – Philippians 4:13

I graduated last 2016 and passed the NLE the same year too. Never in my wildest dream did I ever thought I would take another nerve-racking exam again. Phew! I hated exams but I believe that learning is a continuous process. So my story goes this way, I was just scrolling through my Facebook timeline when I came to see a post by HC regarding #AmericanDream last December 2018. At first, I really hesitant to apply because I was busy working as a staff nurse in a government hospital with 12 hours of duty every shift but my older sister pushed me to continue with it. So, I signed the contract last January 2019.

HC was very supportive of the processing and scheduling all the way. They made sure to provide me with every detail and study material in order to succeed.

They gave me HESI Modules with a personalized study calendar but I wasn’t diligent on answering them (urgh) I basically was lacking in the time management department. As I only did self-review, every day I complained of how tired I was from work (reasons huhu). There were times that I was on the verge of abandoning my #AmericanDream. Hayyy, great things take time. I tried answering the module that was given to me by HC based on my own pacing. Often times I would study 30 mins a day (let’s talk about poor time management again huhuhu). Also, I used other review materials like Mark Klimek audio, purchased 1-month subscription of Uworld, Sauders 7th Edition, and La Charity. I studied and prayed harder.

My advisor updated me and motivated me too. November 2018 came I asked for one-month work leave but the hospital that I work with only granted 9 days leave I could concentrate on taking my NCLEX exam. I recalled crying in the middle of the night because I was scared of failing the exam and disappointing my family (huhuhuhu). I flew to Manila on November 17 and took the exam on the 19th. I arrived at the testing site at 6 am (early bird here haha). During the exam, I wasn’t really sure of my answers, most of the questions were SATA (urgh) and my computer stopped at number 136!! I cried after the exam while eating an ice-cream at 7/11 but God is so good I PASSED!!! IT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVERRRRR.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Health Carousel family for helping me with my #AmericanDream! Dreams truly do come true!!
